About these terms: They govern your use of this website and our enquiry service. By using the site you accept them.

Pricing, availability and no contract: Nothing on this website is a contract. Where a price is shown, it is the retail price in USD for that piece at the time of publication, is subject to availability and to confirmation before any sale, and VAT treatment is confirmed on the invoice. Where a piece is marked Price on Application, no price is published: it is offered privately and commercial terms are provided directly once a specialist has reviewed the piece and your requirements.

Terms of sale, pieces published with a price

What these terms cover: This section applies where a piece is shown with a published price and you arrange its purchase through this website. Pieces marked Price on Application are handled privately and are not sold under this section.

Full payment: Every watch offered for sale is paid in full, in one payment of the price plus insured shipping to your destination.

Payment, title and risk: The price is payable in USD. Receipt of payment confirms your purchase of the watch. Title and risk in the piece pass to you on cleared payment of the full price. Until then the piece remains ours.

Shipping: Watches ship from London, fully insured and signed for. Shipping for your destination is shown at checkout and included in your payment. Shipping is an estimate. The final shipping cost will never exceed this estimate, and if it comes in lower we refund the difference. Import duties and taxes in the destination country are your responsibility.

If we cannot deliver within the stated delivery period, your payment is refunded in full.

Identity and source of funds: For pieces above $13,500 we verify the buyer's identity and source of funds before dispatch. This is standard for goods of this value and we will contact you directly to complete it. We may decline or cancel an order and refund sums received where that verification cannot be completed.

Crypto settlement: Where crypto settlement is offered, the route in use is stated on your order and only that route is accepted. The direct route is Circle native USDC on the Solana network, sent to an address issued for your order alone, for an exact amount converted from the fixed USD price at a rate we record with its source and time and hold for a short period stated with the request. Send only USDC on Solana: another asset, another token or another network cannot be credited to your order and may be permanently lost. A Bitcoin route through a self-hosted payment server remains available as an option and is not in use unless your order says so. A crypto transfer is irreversible once confirmed on its network and cannot be reversed by us, by the network or by any provider. Where a refund is due it is made as a new transfer, in an amount and to a destination agreed with you in writing, and is subject to the agreed sale terms. If the amount received does not match the request, arrives after the stated period, or arrives on another asset or network, it is held for manual review and is not treated as payment until we have confirmed it with you directly. For pieces above $13,500 identity and source of funds checks are completed before dispatch whatever the settlement route. Nothing on this website is investment advice or an offer of an investment.

Returns: If a piece is not as described, it may be returned within 14 days of delivery for a full refund.

Availability and descriptions: Pieces are offered subject to current availability, confirmation of custody and prior sale. Descriptions, specifications and images are provided in good faith and condition is reported as observed. The full reference, accompanying papers and complete condition are confirmed privately before any sale is agreed.

Orders and acceptance: Submitting an order through this website, and any payment or deposit taken with it, does not itself constitute our acceptance of your order or a concluded contract of sale. Acceptance requires confirmation of the piece's availability, completion of identity, source of funds and sanctions checks, and our written acceptance. Fulfilment, including handover and insured delivery, remains a manual process arranged with you directly. Where we do not accept an order, sums received are refunded in accordance with the agreed sale terms and, for crypto settlement, are made as a new transfer to a destination agreed with you in writing.

Seller: The Private Collection is a trading name of Genesis Model Management Ltd, Floor 7, 2 Television Centre, London. Sales are made by Genesis Model Management Ltd, and bank transfers are payable to that account name.

Shipping and duties: Watches ship from London, fully insured and signed for. Where checkout shows a shipping amount for your destination it is included in your total; otherwise insured shipping is quoted before dispatch and invoiced separately. Import duties and taxes in the destination country are payable by the buyer unless stated.

Independence and trademarks: The Private Collection is an independent brokerage of pre-owned and rare timepieces. Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet and Richard Mille are trademarks of their respective owners. The Private Collection is not an authorised dealer of, affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any watch manufacturer.

Intellectual property: Site content and photography are owned by The Private Collection or used with permission and may not be reproduced without consent.

Acceptable use: Do not misuse the site, attempt to disrupt it, or submit enquiries for unlawful or fraudulent purposes.

No warranties / liability: The site is provided "as is" without warranty of uninterrupted availability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for loss arising from use of the site. Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Third-party links: We are not responsible for external sites we link to.

Governing law: These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
